Yesterday I got news from Ben Reasbeck that Collingwood had got a light dusting of snow and that it would likely stick around long enough for me to get up there and shoot. I just picked up my new AF-S NIKKOR 70-200MM F/2.8G ED VR II earlier this week and this seemed like a perfect chance to put it through it’s paces.
I had to fight my way through several Santa Claus parades on the way up but I got there on time and met up with Ben, Taylor, Kyle and Stu. They were hard at work polishing off a new berm filled trail. The trail was south facing and most of the snow had melted. but it was still a killer berm!
I loved this first corner that we shot and the new lens performed flawlessly. This is an available light shot. (ISO 1000, 1/1000 at f 5.6.)
I absolutely love train shots. They just encompass everything I love about riding. Anytime I see Simmons and Shandro ripping singletrack together I want to ride immediately. We aren’t exactly in Zermatt Switzerland here but I spotted this nice back to back berm on the north side of the hill during my hike up to meet the guys. Ben and Taylor timed it perfectly and I am stoked on this shot! I got a few more variations of it but this was my fav!
Here are a few more selects from the shoot. Enjoy!
Another great day of shooting with Ben and Taylor. Thanks for all the hard work, was an awesome day!
